Please note: there is significant travel required across the midlands so a driving license is essential.

Key Responsibilities

As a Health & Safety Advisor at CVS Group, you will:

• Policy & Compliance: Ensure adherence to health & safety legislation by reviewing and updating policies and procedures.
• Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments, identify hazards, and implement measures to minimize accidents and risks.
• Audits & Investigations: Perform health & safety audits and investigations, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
• Fire Safety: Review fire risk assessments and promote fire safety awareness among site teams.
• Training & Leadership: Develop and deliver training on health & safety best practices to managers and employees.
• Incident Reporting: Maintain records of incidents and produce reports to identify trends and improve safety.
• Committee Management: Chair health & safety committees and ensure effective communication and documentation.
• Regulatory Guidance: Stay updated with health & safety legislation, advising senior management on changes.
• Stakeholder Support: Provide expert advice on health & safety queries to all staff levels.
• External Liaison: Collaborate with third-party assessors and authorities to take necessary action on findings.

Qualifications and Skills

• A qualification in occupational health and safety, ideally level 6.
• Experience as a Health & Safety Advisor in a similar environment.
• Strong understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
• IT literate with proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong organizational and motivational skills.
• Ability to produce reports and develop policies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strategic thinking and effective influencing abilities.
