Veterinary Anatomic Histopathologist

 

Location: On-site at Finn Pathologists, hybrid, or fully remote

Employment: Full-time employment is preferred. Part time or shared role option could be considered.

Our Laboratory Division consists of two laboratories (Finn Pathologists, AXIOM Laboratories) and is dedicated to providing the highest quality diagnostic pathology services. Our large and diverse histopathology team comprises pathologists with ACVP, ECVP, FRCPath and MMedVet(Path) qualifications, with expertise across a broad range of disciplines. Finn Pathologists are committed to continually invest in new technologies and equipment, including digital pathology, in-house immunohistochemistry, AI and automated staining. Finn Pathologists also supports research projects and undertakes collaborations with various stakeholders to advance our knowledge in the fields of diagnostic and prognostic testing.

 

The role:

We are looking for a dynamic and service orientated anatomic pathologist with diagnostic laboratory experience. In this role, you would be expected to:

  • Be responsible for examination of digitally processed histopathology submissions.
  • Prepare and issue pathology reports ensuring high scientific standards are met and delivered in a timely way to meet the turnaround times.
  • Contribute on a rotational basis to onsite pathology duties assisting in trimming of complicated case (for employees who will work on site or hybrid).
  • Contribute on a rotational basis to remote pathology duties assisting clients with their queries and the wider team with administrative objectives.
  • Consult and assist other pathologists and interact and provide advice to laboratory personnel where needed. 
  • Answer queries by clinicians relating to anatomic pathology results and further testing.
  • Assist in providing training to CVS residents from various disciplines from our network of referral hospitals, is strongly encouraged.
  • Promote the growth of the laboratory division by participating in meetings and developing professional relationships.

 

Eligibility, essential qualifications and profile:

The candidate should hold active membership of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (UK or overseas). Board certification in veterinary anatomic pathology (Dip. ECVCP, ACVP, FRCPath), or equivalent) is preferrable, but board eligible applicants will be considered. They will have excellent inter-personnel skills with an ability to communicate well with other team members, staff and clients, and to work as part of a team with a wide range of people. They will have good organizational skills and an ability to work well under pressure.
