The support we give you
We have a team of over 400 Student Nurse Clinical Supervisors. All of our student nurses are allocated a clinical supervisor to develop their clinical skills.
They themselves are given special coaching and mentoring training to help them to provide the best support to you.
Once qualified
Once qualified, our nurse career pathway offers bespoke support to newly qualified nurses in their first year of qualification. The Pathway has been developed to show clear career progression across our Companion Animal, Referral and Equine practices.
Extensive internal nursing CPD is offered. Training covers a wide range of clinical and non-clinical topics and practical courses such as Schedule 3, CPR, Diagnostic Imaging, Advanced Medicine, Advanced Surgery, Emergency & Critical Care and Clinical Nurse Practitioner - allowing the individual to become an expert in their chosen field. Our courses range from the required Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing to our accredited Level 5 Diplomas in Advanced Veterinary Nursing.
Our training centres
Our unique CVTC nurse training centres are housed in dedicated premises based in Chester, Dereham and Harrogate to offer high quality training in these regions.
Our centres exceed national average “first time pass rates” in MCQ and OSCE examinations and are rated excellent by the apprenticeship employers. They are also categorised Good by OFSTED. To date they have trained hundreds of students.
Our Harrogate site also has state-of-the-art wet lab training facilities to upskill nurses in schedule 3 surgical procedures.
