Role: Head Nurse / Practice Manager
Location: Crescent, Melton Mowbray
Salary: Up to £36,000 dependent on experience plus benefits
Hours: Full time 40 hours – no weekends or out of hours
Contract: Permanent
We have an exciting hybrid opportunity for a Head Nurse / Practice Manager. This role will offer a split of 30 hours of clinical duties and 10 hours of Practice Manager responsibilities.
You will support a team of highly dedicated and client/patient focused RVNs. As the Head Nurse, you will work closely with the daily operations and lead a dedicated team of RVNs, SVNs, and PCAs, inspiring them to reach their career goals while fostering a positive and collaborative team culture across the practice. Our practice is one of Melton Mowbray's longest established small animal veterinary practices. Our friendly and experienced veterinary team provide the highest quality of veterinary care, surgery and treatment – along with regular check-ups and routine procedures. We also offer grooming services in our on-site dog grooming parlour.
The role includes:
· Responsible and accountable for leading and mentoring the nursing team
· Responsible and accountable for the delivery of all CVS services in line with the scope and quality required by CVS and for ensuring a customer service culture
· Responsible and accountable for all aspects of nursing team management, including recruitment, selection, development, absence reporting and monitoring in line with CVS policy
· Regular team meetings and training sessions will be facilitated to encourage collaboration and professional growth
· Implement and track improvements in work practices to boost efficiency and enhance client satisfaction
· Working in partnership with other key members of the Practice Management team to ensure we provide an outstanding and professional service to our clients and their patients.
· Financial responsibility, debt control, client complaints, people management and premises management.
What are we looking for:
· RCVS Registered
· Previous experience in leading teams, practice Management and developing others preferred
· Strong focus on exceptional patient care and customer service
· Team player with excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
· Self-motivated, with a positive and enthusiastic approach
· Strong organisational, administrative, and attention-to-detail skills
· Ability to handle difficult situations with tact and discretion
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
