Our Farm division has over 120 vets in 15 modern farm and poultry specific practices nationwide. Our practices offer a comprehensive range of services, with a focus on helping our clients prevent disease and maximise efficiency of production on their farms.
Our collective knowledge, clinical skills and buying power enables us to assist our clients with the most cost-effective solutions to all their animal medicine requirements.
Our Clinical Directors lead and support our farm practice teams. The role is open to qualified farm veterinary surgeons already in leadership or experienced vets with a desire to progress into a management role. Our Clinical Directors meet regularly and communicate across the division to support each other to grow their practices.
Our well-equipped, progressive and proactive practices have a variable caseload of dairy, beef and small ruminant work, alongside advanced breeding technologies, clinical research and QI projects. All vets have access to Total Vet software and Easi-scan scanners. We have a network of RCVS Advanced Practitioners and Specialists who give clinical and CPD support to our vets.
The operational anchor for our farm practices, our Practice Managers recruit, train and supervise team members. They play a huge role managing the day-to-day operations and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction. From veterinary or non-veterinary background they normally have management or leadership experience.
In many of our practices we employ specific TB Testers. In England and Wales this is a new role in the veterinary profession and provides a great opportunity for those interested in livestock farming to build a career in the farming and veterinary industry.
Carrying out husbandry and technical tasks to support the health, welfare and breeding of livestock, technicians’ work may include; vaccinations, mobility assessment, foot trimming, disbudding and growth monitoring; and helping prepare livestock for surgery or embryo transfer, handling semen or embryos, and recording data.
These individuals are the life and soul of our practices. They are the point of contact for all of our valued farm clients. They perform a wide range of tasks from managing diaries, to dispensing medicines and organising TB testing - to marketing and social media duties.
