This is an exciting opportunity for a Head RVN to join us at an RCVS accredited small animal hospital at Alnorthumbria in Alnwick! This is a full-time role, offering a salary up to £35,000, depending on experience.
This role is working predominantly Monday to Friday, but there may be a requirement to work weekends to cover for holidays/absence.
We are a busy, progressive first opinion practice with a dedicated emergency out of hour's night team. Within the team, we encourage each other to pursue career aspirations and consider ourselves to be friendly and supportive of each other.
The position is based at our well-equipped Alnwick branch, and is a fantastic opportunity for a head nurse who wants to make a real difference to owners and their pets by running an efficient, fast paced department. You will manage the day team, overseeing both routine and emergency critical care in our hospital premises. Operations vary from cat castrates to TPLO's and fracture repairs, and our inpatients are cared for at a gold standard level; regularly using feeding tubes, CRI's and nursing care plans.
Why Us?
We are a sociable and welcoming team that works hard and plays hard. We hold regular meals out, brunches, and dog walks and can enjoy the nearby coasts and hills that Northumberland has to offer, as well as being close to both Newcastle and Edinburgh.
We support our Nurses to deliver care at its best, and as a result, we are proud to say there are many opportunities and pathways for Nurses within our wider group! If you are looking to progress into leadership or management within a practice or perhaps something remote-based, we can support you.
We have recently launched “CVS Nursing Career Pathway”, intending to demonstrate clear career progression for nurses across first opinion, referral and equine practices. You can have a lifelong career here, regardless of what your current interest is! Click here to find out more: https://vimeo.com/904977057/532bcae978?share=copy
The role…
As head nurse you will work closely with the other members of the practice leadership team to ensure the smooth day to day running of the practice.
You will support a small but excellent nursing team, encouraging them to reach their full potential and realise their career goals while fostering a positive and collaborative team culture across the practice.
We would love you to take a leading role in setting up and encouraging uptake of nurse led clinics as well as encouraging your team to upskill further to increase the services that we can offer our wonderful clients!
What are we looking for...
A motivated and positive Head Nurse with excellent communication skills and a strong focus on providing exceptional patient care and customer service. Previous experience in a leadership role would be beneficial.
You will be responsible and accountable for delivery of clinical services in line with company expectations so high standards of patient care and excellent organisational skills are a must!
Rewards and benefits
We want all our team members to reach their full potential, and this means that clinical interests and career development in whatever direction you choose will be genuinely supported.
