Regional Director – Queensland and Western Australia

The Group generates revenue of more than £600m from 500 practices across the UK and Australia, with around 9,000 employees across vets, nurses, other clinical employees and within our support office. In a growing pet market, we are well positioned for both organic and acquisitive growth, and significant investment projects are in progress to enhance our infrastructure and central support for the Group.
The role:
We have a new and exciting opportunity for an individual to join us as Regional Director to cover our practices in Queensland and Western Australia. Regional Directors are vital to the success of our business and you will take accountability for providing the right support, coaching and leadership to enable our people and practices to achieve their full potential. The position will be home-based in Australia, with frequent travel to practices across each state and occasional further travel to relevant CVS meetings, conferences and events.
In the role, one of your key aims will be to inspire and empower your practice leaders to:
Provide strategic direction and leadership to practices to ensure delivery against people, clinical and commercial aims
Maximise the financial and operational performance of practices
To ensure the delivery of excellent clinical quality and care standards in practices
Lead the successful implementation of key central and local business and operational initiatives
To be successful, you will need to demonstrate:
Highly proactive and driven to succeed
Clinical Veterinary knowledge is essential
Able to communicate clearly with a range of people at differing levels, deploying a range of techniques to do this effectively
Able to negotiate with / influence others
Able to energise, shape and direct a team to maximise motivation
Able to support and develop staff to deliver business goals
A high degree of financial awareness and control
Fluent in interpreting a wide range of financial information to inform decision-making and action-planning and communicating financial information
Takes responsibility for the delivery of project and business deliverables
Significant experience of managerial responsibility at a senior level
Experience of effectively applying change management skills in an environment influenced both by internal and external changes
Knowledge of sector standards required and possesses proven track record of driving improvements in quality standards
Knowledge of Human Resource policies, tools, and techniques, including interviewing, conducting performance coaching and formal HR processes
