White Lion Vets is looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse (Maternity Cover) to join our well-equipped practice based in South Hetton near Durham. You will be joining a practice with access to a varied and interesting caseload and a range of modern equipment.
We are looking for an experienced and motivated RVN who is confident and can provide our client's pets with the best possible care. This is a role that offers the chance to join a very well-established practice with many loyal clients, varied cases, and the chance to be a hero to our client's pets.
This is a rare oppportunity to join our small and friendly team of 4 RVN's/1 PCA at an exciting time in our practices journey as we move into brand new purpose built premises (relocation date set for April). While this is initially a fixed term maternity cover position, continued practice growth is expected over the next 12 months so there may well be the opportunity for this to become a permanent position for the right candidate.
Why join us…
We are a small and friendly team who enjoy working together to achieve the best possible outcomes for our clients and patients. We hold regular team meetings where everyone can share their opinions and contribute ideas, and continued progression and training of all team members is actively encouraged. Our RVN's are encouraged to work to their full potential at all times, we recognise their skills and encourage progression in their areas of interest (one of our current RVN's has recently been on a cardiac and ultrasonography course, and another is pursuing a degree level behaviour course).
Established in 1980s, we are a small animal practice located in Durham. Our practice is easily accessible, with limited on-site parking.
Our friendly and experienced veterinary team provide the highest quality of veterinary care, surgery and treatment – along with regular check-ups and routine procedures.
Knowing the great bond which exists between owner and pet, we strive to treat all pets in our care with compassion, giving them the utmost care and attention at all times.
Salary and Hours:
This is a full-time maternity cover role working 40hrs a week over 5 days (no weekends). The maternity cover is due to last 12 months.
