Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon – White Lion Vets, South Hetton. Full or part time, genuinely flexible hours, clinical interests fully supported, no OOH. Salary up to £65,000 FTE.
Under positive new leadership and with brand new purpose built premises currently under construction (completion expected in the spring), we are now looking for another team member to be a part of this exciting new journey!
As our practice grows we are looking for an additional small animal vet to join our experienced and friendly team. This role offers part time hours and flexibility to suit you!
While a ‘full time' working week is 40hrs spread over 5 days, we think that having a great work life balance is important so we are happy to be as flexible as you need us to be with working hours - part time, shifts that work around the school run, consults only, mornings only, different shift patterns on different weeks... tell us how you would like your working week with us to look and we'll do everything we can to make it happen!
We are a single site first opinion practice in a semi-rural area close to the beautiful cathedral city of Durham and easily accessible from the hubs of Newcastle, Sunderland, Hartlepool and Middlesbrough. Despite being close to the bright lights you only need to drive a short distance east from us and you will find the beaches and cliffs of the Durham coastline. Head west and you will find yourself in the beautiful Durham dales – so whether the urban jungle or the rural idyll is your thing you really can enjoy the best of both worlds here!
As a practice our focus is on striving to provide high quality and compassionate care to our clients and their pets, without compromising the wellbeing of our team. We understand that for you to be your best version of yourself for our clients, you need to have the space and time to look after yourself too. Consulting days are split up with sensible breaks to allow you time to eat/drink/admin as needed. Lunch breaks are protected, and the last routinely bookable consult is an hour before we close. Regular clinical catch ups and practice meetings give all staff members the opportunity to have their say on practice changes, make suggestions and raise concerns. We are committed to clinical progression and new ideas are always welcomed!
We are looking for the successful candidate to have at least one years experience. If you are an experienced vet and have already found your niche then fantastic – we're happy to invest in new equipment if needed and you could play a genuine role in the practice's direction.
The benefit of being part of a larger group means that we have a wealth of support available (because none of us know all the answers, all the time!), and we will genuinely support progression in any direction you choose. Visiting specialists allow cases to be worked up to an extremely high standard without referral, free access to the ‘Vet Oracle' medical advice service can give excellent insight into the cases that just don't seem to be following the rules and the online ‘Knowledge Hub' gives 24/7 access to over 260 courses and 235 webinars which are being added to all the time.
Visa costs supported, and all the benefits of corporate employment:
