Hi, my name is Lore, I'm Head Vet at Melbourne Veterinary Centre. We are currently looking for a third veterinary surgeon, full of enthusiasm, to join our team. I am open to speaking to candidates at all levels of experience.
You can expect to have a lovely client base, the most amazing team and incredibly supportive management. Any desire for further professional development is always greatly encouraged and facilitated. Since starting my job here, I have received so much support whilst working on my surgical certificate. The practice ensures we have all the equipment we could possibly need, without cutting corners when it comes to quality. This year, we invested in a brand-new lap kit. Besides our most recent purchase, we also have state-of-the-art orthopaedic equipment, endoscopes, digital X-rays, ultrasound machine, tonovet and a wide range of in-house diagnostics, including an endocrine and coag machine.
Our nursing team has recently expanded to 4 RVNs, 3 SVNs and a PCA, increasing the support we can give each other. The rest of the team consists of the 3 vets, 2 receptionists and a practice manager.
The practice is in the centre of Cannock, with onsite parking and excellent transport links. There is a Nature Reserve around the corner for lunchtime walks and next to it is a Designer Outlet, all within walking distance.
This role would require 40 hours per week over 4 days, with 1 in 3 Saturday mornings and no out of hours.
Please note: we are open to part-time applicants as well.
Standard consults are 20 minutes, with some exceptions that require longer visits.
The salary is up to £70k, depending on experience. An extensive list of benefits and rewards packages can be found below.
Not quite yet convinced? Perhaps my colleagues can change that:
- “I would recommend working for Melbourne as since graduating as a new RVN the team have been very welcoming and supportive. I enjoy my job as each day is different and the wide range of equipment allows for a variety of caseloads. The vets are always keen for nurses to get involved where appropriate.” - Leah
- “The team are great craic, will have your back and support you no matter how crazy the day is. Whether it be for clinical, laughs or ordering food, there will always be someone spurring you on.” - Aimee
- “I first started at Melbourne Vets in 2014. I had previously worked in another vets for 6 months prior. After about 3 years, I naively left Melbourne. I spent about 2 years away and literally begged to come back. The team here is unmatched anywhere else. We're all supportive, caring and dedicated to the job. Everyone has a gold standard approach to patient and client care. It's nice to have work colleagues that are also friends that you can rely on even on the craziest of days. When the day seems impossible and never ending, we support each other by ensuring we all have breaks, are well hydrated and have plenty of snacks available. It's a great team and I'm glad I came back.” - Catherine
