At Endell Equine Hospital we are looking for someone to join our team, primarily working alongside our head nurse and lab technician. This is a new role that you can very much develop into your own. You do not need to have experience in equine work but being an RVN/ReVN would be advantageous. However, we would also be interested to hear from lab technicians or pharmacy assistants who want to diversify. The main objectives of the role include:
Assisting in running our lab
This includes running biochemistry and haematology
Completing worm egg counts
Performing bacteriology/cytology and histology
Routine cleaning and maintenance of our lab machines
You do not need to have these skills, we would train you
Running our pharmacy
Completing all drug and consumable ordering
Running regular stock checks
Twice yearly stock takes
Ensuring stock is managed efficiently
Stock rotation
Checking stock is managed on our PMS correctly
Auditing what has been billed
Ensuring stock movement is logged correctly
Assisting the head nurse
This could be anything from ensuring the rota is published correctly
Arranging our equipment servicing and maintenance
Ensuring SOP's are up to date
You name it we might ask you! You don't need to know how to do everything but having a can do attitude, a willingness to learn and good basic knowledge of word and excel would be great
This is a full time role, Monday – Friday with no weekends (there may be some requirement to work bank holiday Mondays but this can be discussed). We would also consider 2 part time roles job sharing.
If you are reading this and are curious please apply, we are happy to train you in any aspects you don't have experience in.
