Small Animal Clinical Director Maternity cover at Severn Edge, Hub 4. Hub 4 covers Bewdley, Cleobury, Ludlow and Craven Arms. With clinical work at our Craven Arms branch.

12 months fixed term contract

Are you a small animal vet looking for a busy clinic that will cater to your career goals and needs?

An experienced small animal vet who wants a first opinion role with the ability to work up cases in house with the support of a very knowledgeable team, no OOH good team socials and a real work life balance?

4 days a week and 1 in 3 Saturday mornings, competitive salary, dedicated admin time every day, 20 min consults, and great support staff, huge range of in-house certificate holders and expertise & benefits Scheme.

Our practices are set in the Shropshire market towns, with beautiful countryside, walks, wild swimming and cycling but just 24 miles from Hereford and 20 miles to Shrewsbury. Ludlow is a renowned foodie destination, with regular farmer markets and festivals.

We are looking for a small animal vet to join our team working at our Craven arms. We have modern facilities with in-house blood machines, ultrasound, CR-x-rays, and endoscopes at the Craven Arms branch. At our sites alongside our normal first opinion work we also have local charities we work really close with, both dog and cat. You will be working alongside an experienced veterinary team and administration team. Our nurses have a keen interest in schedule 3 procedures and improving clinical care, and we look to maximise our nurse clinics and fully utilise all members of our team. We also support new graduate vets and student nurses throughout our branches.

As a vet, we want to support you and want to know why you enjoy being a vet and how we can facilitate this in your day to day working life. We also want you to engage with your teams to help them achieve this as well. If you are a vet with a particular area of interest, certificate holder or skill set and we can share this with our wider teams and help facilitate your continued improvement and case load in this area.

Ideally, we are looking for an experienced candidate, however if you have not had a leadership role previously but this is the route you would like to progress into, we would fully support you, and this would be an ideal role for you.

Our hub we work collaboratively to help support each other and best utilise each other's skills and passions. We meet for regular socials outside of work, have monthly vets' meetings where everyone has a voice and an impact, every other week hub huddle to discuss clinical work and conundrums.

This hub is part of our practice group, made up of 10 branches including our 24-hour Bridgnorth hospital. Across our group we have certificate holders in feline medicine, small medicine and small animal surgery, behaviour, diagnostic imaging, ECC and dentistry. We have vets who are in the progress of soft tissue and diagnostic certificates, and we have vets with special areas of interest in teaching, dentistry, laparoscopy, orthopaedics, exotics, reproduction and soft tissue surgery. Due to our wide range of expertise, skill sets and facilities we are a busy proactive group and pride ourselves on the service we can provide.

You will be supported by our admin teams across Severn Edge, but also by the support of our region of practices and other leaders and CVS and their support network. You average work day would consist of consults (15 min for vaccines and 20 min for consults), surgeries/ imaging/ day-care inpatients, lunch break, afternoon consults, and dedicated admin time. One day a week you would spend mainly on admin duties. You will be required to attend meetings remotely and in person at our Bridgnorth site and across our region.
