The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Data Analyst on an initial 12 Month Fixed Term Contract to play a key role in providing technical support and leadership to leverage best practices for insights, analytics, and reporting. You will also be responsible for building strong relationships with multiple decision makers in the business and support them via actionable insights & reporting.

The role will also support data-driven decision making across CVS by maintaining reporting solutions, responding to business data requests, and ensuring the quality and integrity of operational management information.

The role will support on the reporting transformation from the legacy systems to a robust, scalable, and future-fit tech stack, to support CVS in placing data at the core of our decision-making.

This is a remote position, with some travel to meetings.

 

What You'll Do

The successful candidate will support business analysis, largely within the veterinary practice division.

Reporting and dashboard management

  • Work with a range of business stakeholders and colleagues to understand data requirements and deliver innovative reporting and data insights solutions aligned to our evolving strategy and objectives (working across clinical leadership, finance, marketing, operations).
  • Support operational business reporting through the development, maintenance and monitoring of dashboards and reporting solutions.
  • Monitor dashboard performance and investigate issues, discrepancies and address data quality concerns to ensure reports remain accurate, reliable and fit for purpose.
  • Support ongoing development and enhancement of dashboards by implementing agreed updates and changes with business owners.

Business support and data requests

  • Respond to data requests from operational business stakeholders, working alongside other analysts and data engineers to provide efficient and timely solutions.
  • Produce data extracts, summaries and reports using tools such as PowerBI and Excel (as appropriate).
  • Help stakeholders understand and correctly interpret standard reporting outputs.
  • Support to answer business questions using data analytics and produce clear insights with actionable recommendations.
  • Work closely with wider data teams to support reporting priorities and business requirements.

Data quality and governance

  • Follow established reporting governance frameworks, KPI definitions and validation processes.
  • Conduct routine data validation and quality assurance checks before reports are released.
  • Maintain documentation relating to report updates and archived reports.

 

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience working with data, BI reporting and insight analysis in a business environment.
  • Working experience of Microsoft PowerBI for focused data visualisation and reporting.
  • Experience working with SQL and undertaking database queries. Experience working within a Microsoft Fabric cloud-based environment is desirable.
  • Expertise in technical scripting, data querying languages and/or statistical software (e.g. SQL, Python, R, Spark Notebooks) and experience implementing best practices, guidance, and standards.
  • Microsoft Excel skills for data manipulation, analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to follow defined processes, standards and governance requirements.
  • Ability to obtain detailed brief from stakeholder to deliver required data, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple requests and priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach to supporting stakeholders.
  • Motivated and resourceful: Ability to problem solve and be a self-starter. Motivated, well-organised and ability to work on own initiative.
  • Ability to robustly interpret data: Able to analyse a wide range of information and data with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Understanding and articulating assumptions and bias in a report or analysis.
