About the Role:

As a DBA Developer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our database systems. Your work will ensure data integrity, optimize performance, and support our ongoing projects. Key Responsibilities:

Report Design & Development

  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and semantic models built on data engineering outputs.
  • Consume datasets from data warehouses to create business-ready reporting layers.
  • Ensure reports follow data quality, governance, and security standards.
  • Maintain documentation for datasets, metrics definitions, and reports.
  • Provide support for reporting issues and enhancements.

Database Design & Development

  • Design and maintain relational database schemas aligned with application needs.
  • Define tables, indexes, constraints, and relationships for performance and data integrity.

SQL Performance & Optimization

  • Write and review complex SQL queries, views, and stored procedures.
  • Analyse execution plans and identify performance bottlenecks.
  • Implement indexing and query optimization strategies.

Reliability & Data Safety

  • Support production incidents involving database performance or data issues.
  • Assist with data recovery and root‑cause analysis when issues occur.

Qualifications:

Database Skills

  • Strong experience with the major database systems:
    • SQL Server
    • MySQL
  • Deep understanding of:
    • Indexing strategies
    • Query plans and performance tuning

Development Skills

  • Advanced SQL proficiency
  • Experience working with developers and application code
  • Familiarity with one or more programming languages (e.g. VB.Net, C#, Python)
  • Version control (Git) using Azure Devops

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Fabric)
  • Exposure to DevOps practices
