Role Summary

As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing, deploying, and maintaining our infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance of our applications. This fully remote position requires a strong background in software development, system administration, and experience with AWS cloud infrastructures.

 

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Focus on all aspects of day-to-day DevOps tasks with a primary focus on GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain infrastructure according to best practices.
  • Implement automated infrastructure capabilities like backups, security tools, and monitoring.
  • Manage GitLab continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve system performance issues.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of cloud-based applications and data by implementing best cloud security practices.
  • Monitor cloud instances and services for performance and cost optimisation.
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate project changes and ensure system stability.
  • Document system processes for future reference and problem resolution.
  • Maintain our EC2 GitLab Runner fleet.
  • Provide DevOps support and maintenance for Adobe Commerce, PMS, and Labelling application environments.
  • Handle incident management and root cause analysis.
  • Maintain and improve infrastructure monitoring and dashboards to ensure visibility into system performance and health.

 

Key Skills Required

  • Proficiency in AWS cloud services.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools like GitLab CI, or similar.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like CloudFormation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools like CloudWatch, New Relic.
  • Understanding of network security and best practices in cloud security.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript.
  • Experience maintaining and improving infrastructure monitoring and dashboards.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Commerce (Desirable).
  • Experience with integration using Playwright (Desirable).
  • Certifications in cloud platforms or DevOps practices (Desirable).
