The opportunity:

Working as part of the ER Team, the ER Advisor will act as the first line of support for all ER and HR queries. This could include providing coaching, support and informal advice to leaders. 

 

This is a full-time, remote-working opportunity, available on a permanent basis. 

 

The responsibilities:

  • To act as the first line of support for all ER & HR queries providing a telephone and email specialist support service to all business leaders for ER queries and the management of all informal ER and some formal caseload when required.
  • The ER Advisor will work in conjunction with the ER Team Lead (Advisory) and ER Specialist Team to develop the capability of leaders to independently handle and manage a range of ER and HR issues to foster positive working relationships across the business.
  • Deliver a professional HR Service across all business areas in the group advising on the application and implementation of HR Policies and procedures and terms and conditions of employment.
  • Support delivery of any internal training required on HR and ER processes or updates in conjunction with the ER Team Lead (Advisory)
  • In line with policy and process, you will act as a trusted advisor and provide expert knowledge, advice and guidance to business leaders for ER and HR related queries. Examples could include; Probation / Performance Management Advice, Short Term/ Absence Management, Occupational Health Guidance, timekeeping, flexible working and general ER Advisory Support.
  • Coaching and empowering Line Managers and leaders through challenging situations and all aspects of people management including communication, decision-making, fairness and consistency and application.
  • Provide a point of contact for team members across the group offering support and directing them to available resources available

 

The skills:

  • CIPD Qualification Level 5 or above or working towards it with previous experience working in an advisory role
  • Significant experience in Business Change/Restructure initiatives
  • Excellent knowledge of UK employment Legislation
  • Knowledge of ROI employment legislation would be an advantage
  • Proven ER and HR experience and a thorough understanding of current employment policies and procedures
  • Strong advisory and influencing experience with the ability to challenge at all levels through high levels of attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in conflict resolution and coaching managers
