Equine Practice Cleaner (Part-Time)

We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic, and proactive Cleaner to join our team at our busy Equine Veterinary Clinic.

This is a part-time position of 12 hours per week, ideally worked across three days, although we are happy to be flexible for the right candidate.

About the Role

As a Cleaner, you will play a vital role in ensuring our clinic remains clean, hygienic, professional, and welcoming at all times. Working within a veterinary environment means maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout both client-facing and staff areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • General cleaning of clinical, office, and communal areas
  • Dusting and wiping down all surfaces
  • Hoovering, sweeping, and mopping floors
  • Cleaning interior glass windows and doors
  • Removal of cobwebs
  • Emptying bins and replacing bin liners as required
  • Transporting rubbish to the designated waste storage area
  • Cleaning and sanitising toilets and washroom facilities
  • Restocking consumables such as toilet rolls, hand towels, and soap
  • Full cleaning and upkeep of kitchen areas, including:
    • Cleaning worktops, sinks, tables and chairs
    • Wiping down cupboards and appliance exteriors
    • Emptying and cleaning food waste bins
    • Ensuring kitchen areas are clean, hygienic and tidy for staff use
  • Stripping down, deep cleaning, and preparing bedsits and staff flats on a rota basis
  • Ensuring all areas are kept tidy, presentable, and smelling fresh
  • Reporting any maintenance or housekeeping issues identified during cleaning duties

About You

We're looking for someone who:

  • Takes pride in their work and has excellent attention to detail
  • Is reliable, trustworthy, and self-motivated
  • Has a proactive approach and can work independently
  • Has a keen eye for cleanliness and organisation
  • Understands the importance of maintaining high hygiene standards
  • Presents themselves professionally and communicates clearly
  • Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential

Hours

  • 12 hours per week
  • Ideally spread across 3 days
  • Working pattern is negotiable
  • Client-facing areas should be cleaned outside of normal consulting hours, therefore some early morning, evening or flexible working may be required

What We Offer

  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Friendly and supportive team environment
  • Opportunity to work within a professional veterinary setting

If you are someone who enjoys creating clean, welcoming environments and takes pride in maintaining exceptionally high standards, we would love to hear from you.
