Equine Veterinary Surgeon

£38,000 - £55,000 dependant on experience

Are you looking for a genuinely sustainable ambulatory role with a varied caseload, modern kit, and a realistic rota? Join our established 5-vet equine team in South Yorkshire, where clinical standards and work-life balance are both taken seriously.

Our approach is practical, collaborative, and focused on delivering high-quality, sensible care that works in real-world ambulatory settings. Our caseload is genuinely varied, spanning routine work, dentistry, lameness investigations and reproductive services. Many of our clients are pleasure horse owners, alongside a selection of competition and professional yards.

We also run a busy and rewarding stud service, including chilled and frozen AI and neonatal care, working with a wide range of studs from Thoroughbreds to Miniature Shetlands.

We are well equipped for ambulatory practice, with:

  •  Digital radiography (2 portable systems)
  •  Multiple ultrasound machines
  •  Video endoscopy & gastroscopy
  • Oroscope
  • Shockwave therapy
  • Motorised Deason dental kits

This role would suit a veterinary surgeon with some ambulatory experience or a recent intern looking to develop further. However, we are a new graduate-friendly practice with a strong track record of mentoring, and welcome applications from new graduates who are keen to learn.

The Role

  • 4-day working week with fixed day off (Wednesday)
  • 1:8 weekend and 1 weeknight in every other week on-call rota
  • Varied ambulatory caseload with strong client continuity
  • Working alongside 5 vets, RVN and support staff

Days are well structured, with a good balance of routine and more involved cases. Time is allocated for in-person clinical discussions, emergency slots, follow-ups and admin.

Both full-time and part-time applicants will be considered, and we are happy to discuss flexible working arrangements.
