The opportunity:

We are looking for an experienced and driven Accountant to support us in our expansion into Australia supported by the UK finance team. Being based in Australia to support our operations team on the ground and being a key contact and support network for the Managing Director of Australia, whilst reporting in the group's Head of Finance who is based in the UK. This opportunity will suit a qualified accountant who is ambitious and self-motivated. You will be part of a strong team and you will be comfortable engaging with peers and colleagues to

Key duties and responsibilities to include:

o   Supporting in producing and reviewing of the management accounts for the Australian division providing insightful commentary and identifying areas to improve reporting efficiency

o   Responsible for the creation of the budgets for the division and to understand and provide constructive challenge to their business partners

o   Improving the quality, impact and understanding of reporting on business performance including the development of non-financial KPI's analysis in order to monitor performance against plans

o   Development and creation of financial forecasting, decision making support and commercial analysis

o   Creation and support of capex business cases and acquisitions business cases if required to support our acquisitions team

o   Delivery of robust financial control, including development and implementation of improvements in processes and procedures

o   Seeking continuous development and improvement in client service and processes

o   Highlight operational or financial risks and, where appropriate, provide advice on potential solutions for minimising these risks

o   Build strong working relationships with business partners and their teams

o   Ensure close working relationships maintain across both UK finance team and Aus operational teams;

o   Support in the onboarding and integration of practices post acquisition which may require on site presence

o   Providing support in the annual audit process for the Group's Australia business;

o   Providing support in the preparation and review of tax compliances such as GST and where required supporting the payroll team with payroll tax compliance;

o   Preparation/review of completion account or apportionment claims for completed acquisitions;

o   Through supporting on integration ensure the practice has the training and support provided to ensure a successful integration into the group

o   Support with the submission of financial regulatory submission as required;

o   This role will require travel to regional sites in accordance with duties

What You'll Bring:

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Qualified Accountant (CA, CPA, ACCA, or QBE equivalent)

  • Strong understanding of accounting systems and their effective use

  • Advanced Excel proficiency

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Experience in finance business partnering

  • Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft NAV and Cognos

  • Experience working in a multi-location business environment
