The Role

The Finance Business Partner – Equine and Farm is responsible for providing high-quality financial insight, challenge, and support to leaders across the Equine and Farm operations. The role supports our operational leaders through financial insight to made informed decisions to support operational growth.

Working collaboratively across Finance and operational leadership, the Finance Business Partner will translate financial and operational data into clear insight, identify risks and opportunities, support budgeting and forecasting, and promote effective financial governance aligned to CVS values and divisional priorities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted finance partner to the Equine and Farm divisions, building strong relationships and providing clear, practical financial insight.
  • Translate financial performance, risks and opportunities into accessible guidance for non-finance stakeholders.
  • Support leaders to understand key drivers, improve accountability, and make commercially sound decisions.
  • Work collaboratively with Finance colleagues to ensure consistent messaging and aligned priorities.
  • Provide robust financial modelling, including investment appraisal, pricing analysis, forecasting and budgeting.
  • Use data-driven insight to evaluate operational decisions and support delivery of strategic objectives.
  • Prepare and interpret financial reports, highlighting trends, variances, risks and opportunities.
  • Lead or support budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with operational activity.
  • Drive performance through constructive challenge on cost control, revenue growth and commercial outcomes.
  • Partner with operational leaders to assess financial implications of workforce, procurement, and service development decisions.
  • Track and evaluate benefits of initiatives, ensuring continuous improvement and evidence-based decision making.
  • Support month-end processes and ensure robust, accurate financial reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting consistency and ways of working.
  • Deliver ad hoc analysis, scenario modelling and support strategic projects.

 

About You

We're looking for someone who will deliver high-quality financial insight, strengthen stakeholder partnerships, improve forecasting accuracy, and drive better commercial decision-making across the Equine and Farm divisions.

Essential:

  • Fully qualified accountant with relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insight.
  • Confident communicator, able to influence and challenge stakeholders at all levels.
  • Commercially aware, with understanding of key financial drivers such as margin, pricing and cost base.
  • Advanced Excel and financial systems skills, with a focus on improving reporting and insights.
  • Well organised, detail-focused and able to manage multiple priorities.
