Summary of role:
We have a fantastic opportunity for a talented commercially sounds leader to develop and grow the group's FP&A function. The role will be pivotal in providing commercial insight and challenge to ensure senior leaders across the group have the information and data available to make the correct financially strategic decisions for their divisions.
The role will be responsible in ensuring the consistent, accurate and timely delivery of reporting of financial information and performance on a monthly basis, adopting a culture of continuous improvement and insight, alongside forecasting, scenario analysis of potential initiatives and investment appraisal.
The role is pivotal to the success of a high performing commercial finance business partner team.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy & Business Planning:
Develop, implement, and maintain effective planning and analysis capabilities to support operational and strategic decision-making.
Provide the UK and Australia leadership teams with timely, relevant financial information to assess performance against strategic goals.
Track and monitor financial KPIs, providing narrative insight and identifying areas for improvement.
Business Performance Reporting:
Produce regular reporting to track business performance against budget, prior year, and forecasts.
Deliver insightful commentary, highlighting trends, risks, opportunities, and the impact on strategic objectives.
Work closely with divisional leaders, ensuring financial information is accurate, consistent, and supports operational decision-making.
Partner with the Management Accounts Manager and Accounting team to ensure alignment and accuracy of financial data.
Drive continuous improvement across reporting processes, leveraging technology and automation where possible.
Forecasting, Cash Flow Analysis & Capital Adequacy:
Lead the delivery of robust quarterly reforecasts, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Manage end-to-end forecasting processes, collaborating with business units to gather, validate and challenge financial inputs.
Use financial models and trend analysis to provide clear, actionable insights to divisional and senior leadership.
Support cash flow management and capital planning, ensuring the business remains financially resilient.
Project Reporting & Investment Appraisal:
Support strategic initiatives and business cases through the development of financial models and scenario planning.
Provide investment appraisal and risk analysis to aid strategic decision-making.
Champion improvements to financial processes, simplifying and standardising reporting across the group.
Management & Leadership:
Lead and develop the FP&A team, setting clear objectives, supporting career development, and fostering a high-performance culture.
Contribute to departmental plans and priorities, identifying future talent to support business growth.
Skills Required:

Good understanding of the effective use of accounting systems
Microsoft NAV and Cognos skills desirable
