Lead, mentor, challenge, influence and translate insight into action.

That is what sits at the heart of our FP&A Manager role.

With 450 locations across the UK, and with investment underway to grow our direct-to-consumer offering across both physical and online points of sale. We have an ambition to become the veterinary provider of choice through online booking and care management, this is an exciting time to join CVS.

As Finance Business Partner Lead, you will lead and develop a team that provides high-quality financial insight to our operational divisions, helping colleagues understand performance, assess opportunities and make confident commercial decisions. You will be a trusted partner to senior leaders across the business, bringing clarity, challenge and balanced judgement to strategic initiatives, investment decisions and commercial performance conversations.

What you will be doing

  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of finance business partners, building confidence, capability and commercial influence across the function.
  • Act as a champion and challenger for your team and senior business partners, ensuring financial insight is practical, robust and connected to operational priorities.
  • Support in the development of tools, reporting and technology that enable better access to relevant data and support stronger decision-making across the business.
  • Translate analysis into clear, compelling narratives that help commercial and operational leaders understand performance, evaluate proposals and make strategic decisions with confidence.
  • Support the delivery of group strategy by providing honest assessments of initiative performance, investment viability and commercial outcomes.

What you'll bring

  • A confident, adaptable approach to ambiguity and change, with the ability to assess new business models, initiatives and opportunities in a fast-moving organisation.
  • A recognised accountancy qualification, strong commercial acumen and experience partnering with senior stakeholders across complex or multi-site organisations.
  • Proven people leadership experience, with a track record of developing teams, improving capability and encouraging a continuous improvement mindset.
  • A problem-solving mindset, with the ability to remove bottlenecks, improve processes and use data and systems to create better outcomes.
  • A genuine interest in the CVS commercial model and the curiosity to understand routes to market across our estate, enabling true business partnering.
