We have a fantastic opportunity for a Part-Time Head Receptionist to join our team here at Mildmay Veterinary Hospital! This is a job-share position to provide management to the reception team with secondary responsibility for all insurance claims across our three Mildmay practices. Ideally, we are looking for cover on Monday - Wednesday and Friday afternoons, circa 20 hours per week.
As a Head Receptionist, you will provide a friendly and efficient service to our clients and their animals. We are a professional and personable team working in a challenging and busy environment, which makes the role varied, interesting and no day is ever the same!
As Head Receptionist, you will be responsible for managing the reception team. This primarily includes overseeing the administration functions within the team, effecting successful communication cascades, driving the recruitment cycle, dealing with complaints, and keeping up to date with new business initiatives.
We are looking for someone who is detail orientated, has excellent communication and organisational skills as well as strong leadership skills. Previous experience of managing a team is required as well as receptionist or customer facing experience. Previous veterinary industry experience would also be highly beneficial.
You will need to have the ability to remain calm under pressure and show empathy in each situation you encounter, from sharing the excitement of a puppy's first visit to the vets or comforting a client who has received some bad news.
