We have a fantastic opportunity for a Head Receptionist to join our team here at our Mildmay Veterinary Hospital, Winchester!
This is a part-time job share position is working 4 afternoons Monday-Friday and all day Tuesday, around 25 - 30 hours per week.
As a Head Receptionist, you will provide a friendly and efficient service to our clients and their animals. We are a professional and personable team working in a challenging and busy environment, which makes the role varied, interesting and no day is ever the same!
As joint Head Receptionist, you will be responsible for managing the large reception team in the moment as well as holding regular team meetings and carrying out monthly 121 's for your direct reports and supporting their wellbeing. You are responsible for ensuring reception and practice information and updates are cascaded promptly and adopted by the team. The role will involve overseeing the clinical diary on a daily basis and general reception duties. These duties include answering phones, responding to emails, booking appointments, registering new clients, completing insurance forms, taking payments and providing a warm and welcoming experience to our clients arriving to the clinic. As Head Receptionist you are regularly the first line contact for customer queries and complaints.
We are looking for someone who has excellent communication and organisational skills as well as strong leadership skills. Experience managing a team to success is essential. You must be able to prove strong time management skills and able to regularly reprioritise your day as new demands arise. Previous experience in a customer facing role is essential and veterinary industry experience would be an advantage.
You will need to have the ability to remain calm under pressure and also show empathy in each situation you encounter, from sharing the excitement of a puppy's first visit to the vets or comforting a client who has received some bad news.
As one of our employees you will have access to our Client Care Hub. This is a dedicate space on our Knowledge Hub for all client care resources. You will be invited to join a support session within your first few weeks of being in the business, where you will meet a Learning Partner and begin your training journey. You can then join further session(s) at any point in the next six months to ask any questions you may have regarding your training. This training is alongside the training your will receive in practice.
The salary for this position is up to £28'500 depending on experience (pro rata).
