Pennine Vets are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Head Veterinary Surgeon to join our wonderful team. This pivotal leadership role is responsible for delivering exceptional, patient centred care while driving clinical excellence, supporting operational efficiency, and leading continuous service improvement.

Rota: 40 hours a week across 4 days. If you are seeking part time hours please get in touch to discuss options. No OOH, no on call. No Sundays.

Life at Pennine Vets

Pennine Vets was established in 2004, and our two practice sites are located in Tottington, Bury and Harwood, Bolton. These two practices work side-by-side, and our friendly and experienced veterinary team provide the highest quality of veterinary care, surgery and treatment, along with regular check-ups and routine procedures to our client base.

The practices offer a varied caseload including exotics, with a focus on consultations and basic surgery. You'll be supported by a close‑knit team of three Vets, six Nurses, and a dedicated support team, working in a well‑equipped environment with digital X‑ray, ultrasound, modern theatres, separate cat and dog wards, and comprehensive in‑house laboratory facilities.

About you

You'll be passionate about coaching, empowering your team, and consistently driving high standards of patient and client care. Your leadership will be key to our continued development as a centre of excellence.

You will be an experienced veterinary surgeon with strong clinical capability and a natural mentor who enjoys developing and supporting colleagues. Proactive and solutions‑focused, you will bring resilience and a positive outlook while collaborating effectively as a team player who adds professionalism and energy. As a forward‑thinking leader, you will be eager to help shape the future of the practice.
