About us:

You'll be joining a supportive and experienced clinical team made up of receptionists, VCAs, SVNs and RVNs, alongside three experienced Vets, two of whom hold certificates in Surgery and Medicine.

We pride ourselves on providing excellent clinical care while supporting our team with dedicated admin time throughout the day for writing notes, updating records and client communications.

Consultations are structured to allow quality time with patients and owners, with 15-minute vaccination appointments, 20-minute consultations as standard, and longer appointment slots available for more complex cases, giving you the time and flexibility to work cases to a high standard.

Life at Wythall Veterinary Centre (previously YourVets Wythall)

Wythall Veterinary Centre are a well-established small animal practice, offering a fantastic work-life balance with no-out-of hours and minimal bank holiday commitments, located in a pleasant semi-rural area just off Junction 3 of the M42, providing easy driving access to Birmingham, Solihull, and surrounding countryside. The role would mainly consist of one operating shift and 3 consulting shifts with the exception of any emergencies. 

Our facilities include a digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, in-house lab machines, and access to a CT Scanner at Solihull Veterinary Hospital, giving you the tools you need to deliver outstanding care. We are committed to ensuring a friendly and collaborative environment where everyone is supported in providing the best possible care to animals. We are very development-focused and can support with any CPD interests.

Beyond our day-to-day practice work, we're incredibly proud of our close relationship with Cats Protection. Each week, our team carries out examinations and patient assessments at their centre, with cats then visiting Wythall Veterinary Centre for surgical procedures and treatment. This long-standing partnership is a rewarding part of what we do, allowing us to support the welfare of cats awaiting their forever homes while making a positive impact within our local community. About you:

This is an FTC Maternity cover role, working 40 hours across, however we would be happy to discuss part-time options. We are seeking a Head Veterinary Surgeon to join our fun, friendly and supportive team.

You will be an experienced veterinary surgeon with strong clinical capability and a natural mentor who enjoys developing and supporting colleagues. As a forward‑thinking leader, you will be eager to help shape the future of the practice.
