We are looking for an Imaging Technician to assist with the overall running of the Imaging department and to carry out modality specific imaging procedures.

Lumbry Park Veterinary Specialists is a multidisciplinary referral hospital offering a wide range of specialist services, including Neurology, Orthopaedic Surgery, Soft Tissue Surgery, Internal Medicine, Cardiology and more.

This is a full time position working 40 hours a week plus contribution to the 1:5 weekend OOH rota. 

Duties will include: 

  • Carry out modality specific imaging procedures to best practice standards of radiographic technique
  • Maintaining high levels of cleanliness throughout the department.
  • Cleaning and turning around clinical rooms between examinations and helping with efficient throughput of patients.
  • Assisting nurses to restrain patients for ultrasound examinations.
  • Assisting the radiologists in the processing of biopsies and other laboratory samples, and assisting with drainage procedures (after appropriate training)
  • Together with other support staff help with the maintenance and servicing schedule of imaging equipment
  • Ordering and restocking consumables and equipment
  • Maintaining clinical standards
  • Liaising with nursing and anaesthesia teams as well as members of the imaging department

Ideally, you will have a qualification in Animal Management /Handling or be Registered Veterinary Nurse with interest in imaging/ further qualifications in imaging.
