Role Details:

Location: Finn Pathologists, Harleston, Norfolk, IP20 9EB

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 38 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Tuesday – Friday (6.30am – 3.00pm), Saturday (6.30am – 1pm)

About the Role:

The role will consist of a range of laboratory and technical duties.

Processing diagnostic samples from clients located all over the UK as well as parts of Europe, our laboratory team are critical in producing timely results to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities will be:

  • Laboratory based skills including haematology, chemistry and cytology
  • Sample handling of veterinary diagnostic specimens
  • Use of laboratory equipment, including automated blood analysers
  • Microscopy – blood and urine • Health and safety and standard operating procedure training
  • Involvement in Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures

 

Who We're Looking For:

  • Previous laboratory experience would be advantageous, especially microscopy and haematology
  • You must be able to demonstrate an organised and thorough approach to your work
  • Proven manual dexterity
  • A conscientious and methodical approach to work is essential
  • Be self–motivated
  • Be accurate and have a high level of attention to detail
  • Have the ability to follow instructions and procedures
  • Be able to work under pressure
  • Thrive on providing quality service
  • Have the ability to communicate clearly (both written and verbally)
  • Have the ability to work independently but also be a team player and have a positive attitude
  • Be a complex problem solver
