New Graduate Vet role – The Old Golf House, Thetford & Watton Graduate Vet Programme

An exciting opportunity is available for a New Graduate Vet to join our team at the Old Golf House.  We are a forward-thinking, progressive practice, always striving for excellence, but we are also supportive, friendly, loyal and honest. Our amazing workplace culture was recognised by the BVA and we have previously been a winner of their wellbeing award (large practice), and everyone is encouraged to pursue their own interests. For example, we currently have nurses with anaesthesia certificates supporting our 6 other vets with diverse interests from exotics to internal medicine. Working across 2 first opinion small animal sites in the beautiful Norfolk/Suffolk countryside, you will have the autonomy in your role to really make a difference to your team and the client journey.  The practice also has PSS outstanding awards in client care and sustainability.

The position is full time with a 1:4 share of the Saturday rota and no OOHs.

What the team say:

Hannah (RVN) "It's a really lovely, supportive practice where I'm proud to be a part of the nursing team. We are always open to new ideas, working across teams to make improvements all of the time. As a practice we regularly go out for quiz nights, Sunday brunches and take part in mindfulness lunches”

All new graduates that we employ are enrolled onto our Graduate Programme which offers an excellent level of structure and support during your first years in practice.

You will have an experienced clinical mentor working alongside you in your practice and in addition, you will attend dedicated Continued Professional Development (CPD) days, supporting the development of your clinical skills and non-clinical skills, including self-leadership, teamwork, wellbeing, resilience and business, whilst also providing the opportunity for you to share experiences with fellow graduates.

These are just some of the benefits of joining CVS Vets as a New Graduate Vet:

  • Salary of £36,500 which is reviewed at both the end of year 1 and year 2 of the programme
  • No financial tie-in to the programme
  • Professional memberships (RCVS & VDS).
  • BSAVA membership for duration of the Graduate Vet Programme
  • 5 weeks annual leave (plus bank holidays) with the option to buy an additional 2 weeks
  • Increasing holiday entitlement in line with length of service (after 5 years of service you receive 1 extra day for each year worked up to a maximum of 5 extra days).
