An exciting opportunity has arisen at MiNightVet Rotherham (based in Springfield Vets, Rotherham, South Yorkshire) for a part-time vet to join our team, working 1 week in 6 (7 nights on 35 off). . Salary up to £80,000 FTE commensurate on experience.
About us…
MiNightVet Rotherham operates as an integral part of the overall 24hr practice team. As an AP-led ECC service, gaining ‘Outstanding' in the RCVS PSS Awards, we have a strong emphasis on providing a continuous, compassionate, quality service around the clock. As well as providing OOH care for Springfield Rotherham, we also provide the OOH service for the 4 other Springfield branches and for a number of CVS and non-CVS member practices with whom we work closely. The majority of cases remain in our hospital until discharge, allowing you to be consistently involved in their care and see cases through to completion. The result is a healthy caseload which allows for good clinical development of our team while still enabling us to provide a high standard of care to each individual.
We are keen to support our team members in the development of their clinical skills. Most of our vets either have or are currently pursuing certificates. Our hospital is extremely well-equipped with a CT scanner, endoscopy, digital x-ray, state-of-the art ultrasonography and extensive laboratory equipment including a blood gas analyser, ketone, glucose and lactate analysers and an endocrine analyser. With an extremely experienced team of vets working during the day including Advanced Practitioners in medicine, surgery, cardiology and emergency and critical care, this role allows you to work closely with a highly skilled team with the capacity for good OOH case support as needed. We have 2 RVNs working until 11pm every day with one staying overnight, and a twilight vet until 9pm Mon-Fri.
While an experienced OOH vet would be welcomed to this role, we are also well positioned to provide mentoring and support to a suitable candidate looking for career progression in the ECC field.
A successful candidate will be a good communicator, working well as part of both large and small teams, eager to learn and engage in continuous professional development, able to work sole charge and with at least 2 years in small animal clinical practice in the UK. Prior OOH experience is desirable but not required. The current vacancy is to work a run of 7 nights every 6 weeks. Our current team find this to provide an excellent
work:life balance, however additional shifts are often available within CVS, and a combination of day and night work could be considered for the right candidate.
