We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a passion for animals to join us as a Veterinary Patient Care Assistant at Masefield Vets, Malvern.

We are looking for someone who can join us on a part-time basis, working 23 hours a week across Monday to Friday with a mixture of early & late shifts. The earliest start time will be 8am and the latest finish time will be 7pm. Our ideal candidate would have some animal care experience and be someone who is interested in pursuing a career in veterinary nursing.

At CVS, caring is what we do. As a Veterinary Care Assistant, you'll be at the heart of promoting pet wellness—preparing for surgeries, supporting patient recovery, and offering reassurance to the people who love them. Because for us, caring isn't just a job—it's in our nature.

We put our people first—because when you're supported, you can deliver the very best care. With industry-leading learning, hands-on training, and guidance, you'll have everything you need to grow your skills and confidence. Whether you're looking to progress in your current role or explore new career pathways, CVS is the place to nurture your future career.

What we're looking for in our Veterinary Patient Care Assistant:

  • An excellent communicator with strong empathy
  • Excellent customer service skills and experience in dealing with members of the public
  • Resilient with the ability to cope with potentially distressing and emotional situations
  • A positive attitude and excellent teamwork skills
  • Experience in looking after animals in a veterinary environment and working night shifts would be desirable
  • 5 GCSEs, including English and Maths

We know that benefits are key and that your personal benefits priorities will differ from others, so please see some of what we offer below:

  • Salary will be up to £26,436 (pro rata)
  • 5 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Option to buy/sell up to 4 weeks annual leave with our buy/sell scheme

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept and progress applications from candidates without the Right to Work in the UK as we cannot provide visa sponsorship, due to our clinical support roles not meeting the criteria set out by the Home Office to be eligible.

CVS is committed to being a fully inclusive place to work where all our colleagues are encouraged and supported to be themselves, where difference is celebrated and where everyone feels able to deliver their best. We are also determined to build a workforce that is more representative of our diverse communities and the people we provide our services to.
