Prescription Operations Manager - Veterinary Surgeon

Location: Remote-first (with travel to Diss, Norfolk every 8–12 weeks)
Contract: Permanent, 40 hours per week
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 (depending on experience)

About the Role

Animed is looking for an experienced veterinary professional ready to step outside of clinical practice into a leadership and operational role.

This position is ideal for:

• A qualified Vet (MRCVS) seeking a career change
• Or someone with strong veterinary/practice experience
• With proven management or leadership experience

You'll lead the development and scaling of our prescription services, managing a growing team and ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and high-quality customer outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Dispensing Vets, wand in ithe future -  responsibility for SQPs and Veterinary Nurses
• Build a positive, high-performing team culture
• Design and implement a scalable, future-ready operating model
• Use technology and support functions to improve efficiency and service delivery
• Ensure full compliance with VMD regulations and internal SOPs
• Partner with the Compliance Lead to maintain regulatory standards
• Oversee the safe, accurate, and efficient dispensing of prescription medications
• Implement risk mitigation and continuous improvement processes
• Define, monitor, and report on KPIs
• Use systems such as Doctract and Q-Pulse for auditing and tracking
• Ensure effective communication between customers, prescribing vets, and internal teams

About You

Essential:

• RCVS registered (MRCVS)
• Experience in dispensing prescription medication
• Proven people management and leadership experience
• Strong understanding of VMD/legal requirements
• Commercial awareness, ideally within retail or e-commerce
• Data-driven, with strong analytical and reporting skills

You'll also be:

• A proactive self-starter
• Comfortable operating both strategically and hands-on
• Customer-focused with strong problem-solving skills
