Join Our Team as a Veterinary Receptionist at Clifton Villa Vets

Are you someone who loves working with people just as much as pets?

At Clifton Villa Vets, our reception team plays a vital role in the practice—they are the first voice our clients hear and the first face they see, setting the tone for every visit. We're looking for a warm, organised and approachable individual to join our friendly team.

The Role

  • Location: Clifton Villa Vets (primarily Truro, with some shifts at our Newquay branch)
  • Contract: Permanent
  • Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Shift Pattern: A varied mix of early and late shifts (between 8:00am and 7:00pm), including a share of the Saturday rota

We understand that work-life balance matters, so we're open to discussing flexible working patterns, whether that's longer days or shorter shifts where possible.

About Us

We're a welcoming, community-focused practice with a strong team spirit. Our clients know us for our friendly approach, and our team genuinely cares about supporting one another as well as the pets we treat.

You'll mainly be based at our Truro branch, with some time spent in Newquay—so flexibility and team collaboration are key.

What You'll Be Doing

This role is about much more than answering phones—you'll be at the heart of the client experience.

  • Welcoming clients and their pets and helping them feel at ease
  • Managing appointments and supporting the smooth running of the day
  • Handling calls and enquiries with professionalism and empathy
  • Supporting clients through all moments—from routine visits to more emotional situations
  • Processing payments, insurance forms and general admin tasks
  • Working closely with the clinical team to keep everything running smoothly

What We're Looking For

  • Previous reception or customer-facing experience
  • A friendly, calm and compassionate approach
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask
  • Confidence using computer systems
  • A team player who's happy to support across both sites
  • Someone who understands the importance of great client care

Experience in a veterinary setting is a bonus—but not essential. What really matters is your attitude and how you connect with people.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary
  • 5 weeks' annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata)
  • Staff discounts on veterinary care and products
  • Access to wellbeing support via our Employee Assistance Programme
  • Opportunities to develop and grow within CVS
