Life at Petherton & Marlborough Road Vets

We are looking for a passionate Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team and work 30 hours across 3 days with a share in the 1 in 4 Saturday rota. This is a 12-month fixed term contract to cover maternity and is based across both of our Petherton and Marlborough Road branches.

Working across our Petherton and Marlborough Road branches in Cardiff offers a fantastic variety and balance, combining the feel of a close-knit local practice with the benefits of a well-connected city location. Both clinics are situated in vibrant, community-focused areas, with a loyal and diverse client base that allows you to build meaningful relationships and deliver truly personalised care. You'll enjoy exposure to a wide range of surgical and medical cases, working alongside supportive, experienced teams who prioritise collaboration and development.

Our facilities include lap spays, up to date lab equipment, digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, and separate dog and cat wards, giving you the tools you need to deliver outstanding care. We are also in the process of having a brand new, purpose-built clinic being built, ready for us to move into by the end of 2026.

No two days at Petherton & Marlborough Road are ever the same, your responsibilities will include:

• Providing high-quality patient care, running wards and monitoring recovery
• Delivering nurse consults and clinics
• Monitoring anaesthetics for first and second ops
• Supporting student nurses in their clinical journey

About you

Our ideal candidate will have some experience as a qualified veterinary nurse and be confident in all areas of nursing, including anaesthetics. An interest in clinical coaching is desirable but not essential.
