Dovecote Veterinary Hospital is a leading multi-disciplinary referral centre based in Castle Donington, near Derby. We provide specialist services across:

• Neurology
• Orthopaedics
• Soft Tissue Surgery
• Oncology
• Dermatology

Our hospital also offers certificate-led Internal Medicine and Ophthalmology services, alongside a thriving first opinion practice and out-of-hours emergency service for the local community.

Equipped with advanced diagnostic and imaging technology, including MRI, CT, digital radiography, ultrasound, and comprehensive surgical facilities, Dovecote is at the forefront of veterinary medicine.

The Role

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you'll play a vital role in delivering outstanding patient care while working alongside a highly experienced and collaborative clinical team.

Hours

• 40 hours per week
• Flexible working pattern of either:
  • Four 10-hour shifts, or
  • Five 8-hour shifts
• Shifts scheduled between 7:30am and 7:30pm
• 30-minute unpaid lunch break each day
• Two or three days off per week, depending on shift pattern

Weekend & Out-of-Hours Commitment

• Participation in the weekend rota with time off in lieu provided
• Occasional weekend out-of-hours shifts supporting our Mi-Night service and inpatient care teams

This varied role offers exposure to a wide range of nursing responsibilities, including:

• Anaesthesia monitoring
• Nurse consultations
• Inpatient care
• Blood sampling
• Catheter placement
• Support with advanced diagnostics and specialist procedures

You'll work closely with specialists and experienced clinicians across multiple disciplines, including Neurology, Orthopaedics, Surgery, Oncology, Internal Medicine, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Dentistry, and First Opinion practice.
