Life at Carrick Veterinary Centre

We are looking for two Registered Veterinary Nurses to join our team. We have two contracts available for 38.5 hours a week and 32 hours a week, both with a share in the 1 in 4 Saturday rota - we can be flexible on days. This role will also be based across all three of our practices in Chesterfield, Barlborough, and Mansfield.   

Carrick Veterinary Centre are a well-established, multi-site practice across Chesterfield, Barlborough, and Mansfield, with all three branches within 20 minutes of each other and offering great access to the M1. Situated close to local amenities, including the popular Dobbies Garden Centre at Barlborough, the practice provides a varied and rewarding caseload supported by advanced surgical and diagnostic capabilities, including laparoscopic surgery, dental radiography, and orthopaedic procedures performed by a certificate holder in surgery.

Home to a skilled team of eight vets, seven nurses, PCAs and dedicated support staff, Carrick Vets is committed to delivering exceptional patient care and holds ISFM Gold and Silver Cat Friendly accreditations across its sites, alongside Dogs Trust Dog Friendly status at Hollywell. The team prides itself on its open, supportive culture, with CPD and certificate study encouraged, a strong focus on development, flexibility, and teamwork, creating an environment where colleagues feel valued and genuinely supported to develop and progress in their careers.

No two days at Carrick Vets are ever the same, your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide high-quality patient care, running wards and monitoring recovery
  • Deliver nurse consults and clinics
  • Monitor anaesthetics for first and second ops
  • Support student nurses in their clinical journey

 

About you

Our ideal candidate will have some experience as a qualified veterinary nurse and be confident in all areas of nursing, including anaesthetics.
