At CVS, caring is what we do. As a Veterinary Nurse, you'll be at the heart of promoting pet wellness—monitoring patients' health, supporting their recovery, and offering reassurance to the people who love them. Because for us, caring isn't just a job—it's in our nature.

We put our people first—because when you're supported, you can deliver the very best care. With industry‑leading learning, hands‑on training, and guidance, you'll have everything you need to grow your skills and confidence. Whether you're looking to progress in your current role or explore new career pathways, CVS is the place to nurture your future career.

Life at Severn Edge – Craven Arms

Severn Edge Vets – Craven Arms is a small animal practice with a passionate and friendly team of vets, nurses, PCAs and receptionists. With free on‑site parking, a supportive team culture, and modernising facilities - including a new dental X‑ray arriving soon - you'll have the tools and environment you need to deliver outstanding care.

We're located in the beautiful Shropshire countryside, serving a loyal and appreciative local community. Working across this welcoming client base means you'll build meaningful relationships while providing high‑quality nursing care in a genuinely collaborative environment.

The role will involve working 34.88 hours across 4 days a week, including two early shifts (8:30am-4:30pm) and two late shifts (8:30am-6:30pm) with a share in the 1 in 4 Saturday morning rota.

About You

We're looking for a dedicated Veterinary Nurse to join our Craven Arms team on a 12‑month fixed‑term basis. No two days will be the same. You will:

  • Be passionate about delivering exceptional care to both patients and their owners every day.
  • Support patient outcomes in all aspects of clinical work as part of a supportive and friendly team.
  • Carry out a wide variety of nursing duties including nurse consults, Schedule 3 procedures, monitoring anaesthesia, assisting with operations, drawing up medications, dispensing prescriptions, and maintaining clinical cleanliness.
  • Ensure quality is maintained throughout the practice, supporting excellent standards of care and the best possible patient outcomes.
  • Learn, develop and grow with us—whether you have a special interest in dentistry or another area, we're happy to support your clinical passions.
  • Contribute to a positive environment, fostering a friendly, welcoming and supportive team culture.
  • Communicate with confidence and use your strong client‑care skills to build lasting relationships with colleagues, clients, and their pets.

At CVS, we know that care for our patients starts with dedicated people like you. That's why we invest in your growth and your future. When you join us, you'll receive:

  • Excellent Nursing Career Pathway
  • Up to 33 days holiday (with the option to buy/sell)
