Life at County Sandbach

We are looking for a passionate Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team and work 32 hours a week, with Saturday working on a rota basis. There is no OOH work involved.

Based in Sandbach, a pretty market town in the heart of Cheshire filled with historic sights, idyllic countryside views and modern amenities. We have a caseload that allows our teams to develop! The team comes with a varied skill level, where everyone really has the chance to shine. Where required, we make use of visiting specialists to keep the experience in house with an aim to grow and develop talent within our team. This also helps keep our clients bonded and allows us that continuity of care.

We have access to laparoscopic kit, brand new digital x-ray, dental x-ray with processor and lots of other bits and bobs to make day to day life and work up of your cases easier, giving you the tools to deliver outstanding care. You will be working alongside an experienced and supportive nursing team and a number of vets, including two Senior Vets, cert holders in medicine & dentistry, and nurses with certifications. We also deliver acupuncture services. So, there is plenty of support in those areas.

Development of our people is important, and we'd be keen to support you with any areas of interest. We are blessed to be supported by an OOH provider and have no Sunday or Bank Holiday working.

No two days at County Sandbach are ever the same, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing high-quality patient care, running wards and monitoring recovery
  • Conducting nurse consults and clinics
  • Monitoring anaesthetics during operations
  • Supporting student nurses in their clinical journey

About you

We are looking for a qualified Veterinary Nurse who is confident in all areas of nursing, including anaesthetics. That said, we recognise that everyone develops at their own pace and would be delighted to support a newly qualified nurse in building their confidence, gaining experience, and developing their skills within a supportive team.

We're looking for a dedicated Veterinary Nurse to join our team. You will:

  • Be passionate about delivering exceptional care to both our patients and their owners every day.
  • Support the outcome of patients care in all aspects of clinical work as part of the team.
  • Ensure Quality is maintained by keeping our practice in excellent condition- ensuring quality of care and the best possible outcomes for every patient
  • Learn, develop and grow with us, taking advantage of ongoing training and development opportunities offered by CVS and our practice.
  • Contribute to creating a positive environment, fostering a friendly, welcoming and supportive team culture.
  • Communicate with confidence, use your exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal—to build strong, lasting relationships with colleagues, clients, and the pets they love.

As we are a multi-site group of clinics, you may occasionally be required to support our teams at Alsager, Newcastle, or Kidsgrove during periods of annual leave or increased demand. This is a great opportunity to work alongside and get to know colleagues across the wider team, while gaining experience in different clinic environments. This support is usually infrequent but could be required up to once per week.
