Lumbry Park Veterinary Specialists is a multidisciplinary referral hospital offering a wide range of specialist services, including Neurology, Orthopaedic Surgery, Soft Tissue Surgery, Internal Medicine, Cardiology and more.

Your Role

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic RVN who would like to take the next step into referral nursing. You will join a large, supportive nursing team working across a variety of disciplines, gaining exposure to a diverse caseload and advanced veterinary procedures.

To set you up for success, you will receive a comprehensive 8‑week induction, alongside structured in-house learning, regular CPD sessions, 6‑monthly CPR refreshers and support from our experienced senior nursing team. As your confidence grows, you will progress through more advanced responsibilities and work closely with specialists across the hospital.

Examples of our caseload include:

• Diagnostic workups including CT, MRI, ultrasound and endoscopy
• Neurology: spinal surgeries, stabilisation procedures and advanced endoscopic spinal techniques
• Soft tissue: thoracotomies, complex abdominal surgeries, wound management and amputations
• Cardiology: interventional procedures including pacemaker placements
• Orthopaedics: fracture repairs, arthroscopies, TPLOs and arthrodesis procedures

Our nurses receive a £500 CPD budget, often used to support further study, attend specialist lectures or undertake certificates.

Benefits

Progression: Opportunities to move into senior clinical roles, leadership positions, operations teams and more. Your career path is your own.
Wellbeing: Employee Assistance Programme, optional Health Shield cash plan and on-site Mental Health First Aiders.
Work-life balance: Flexible working patterns considered for both full and part-time applicants. Weekend rota is 1:6 with TOIL provided, plus 1–2 bank holidays per year.
