We're looking for a Senior Clinical Director to join our team. The evolving role of the Senior Clinical Director is designed to deliver stronger strategic alignment, consistent leadership and improved performance across practices - including Silverton Vets, Seymour Vets and Dart Vale Vets!
SCDs operate as dual strategic and operational leaders, blending regional priorities with strong local presence to ensure clarity of decision-making, consistent guidance and accessible support. We anticipate a clinical commitment of approximately 30 - 40% depending on the requirement at the time and required leadership at the time. The remaining time is dedicated to people leadership, operational oversight and administrative support, working closely with the Regional Director to drive consistency, performance and engagement.
Through defined engagement rhythms, including monthly on-site visits and regular Business-as-Usual meetings, SCDs maintain a visible leadership presence and foster shared purpose across teams. Data-driven performance management, supported by KPI dashboards, enables proactive problem-solving, early risk identification and continuous improvement.
With a people-first approach, these leaders prioritise staff wellbeing, development and workload balance, supporting better outcomes for both teams and patients. They also deputise for the Regional Director when required, ensure leadership continuity, manage complaints, gather performance insights and handle urgent communications. Together, these responsibilities create a consistent, responsive and aligned leadership model that strengthens practice standards and organisational performance.
This role requires experience managing multiple sites, along with proven ownership of budgets and P&L. You will need to be flexible in your approach, take the lead on key projects, and work closely with the Regional Director. In addition, you will collaborate with the HR Business Partner and recruitment team to support broader organisational objectives.
