We are currently advertising for a full-time (4 day week) 6-month position in our Small Animal Internal Medicine department, starting in October 2026. Whilst the ideal candidate will be an ECVIM or ACVIM boarded diplomat, ECVIM/ACVIM board eligible candidates will also be considered. Candidates should have experience in running a busy hospital case load and in training medicine residents/interns and you will take part in an on-call rota supporting our residents.

The successful candidate will join our experienced, cohesive and friendly team that consists of four boarded specialists (3 ECVIM and 1 ACVIM), one board eligible clinician, two medicine residents, one medicine intern, four discipline specific medicine nurses and one medicine specific patient care assistant. We also run a successful rotating internship program and so we often have a rotating intern on our service as well. Our department has all the usual fun tools a medicine specialist could need!

BVS is a large specialist-led, referral-only hospital located in Bristol. We offer the full complement of specialist veterinary referral services including Anaesthesia and Analgesia, Cardiology, Dentistry, Dermatology, Diagnostic Imaging, Emergency and Critical Care, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics and Soft Tissue Surgery and online support available for Clinical Nutrition. Our departments work together in a collegial and collaborative environment to provide the highest care to our patients. Our brand-new state of the art purpose-built hospital has 11 canine consult rooms, a separate feline centre (with 3 consult rooms), MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, radiotherapy unit (with a linear accelerator), 5 theatres, canine and feline ICUs and an incredible team of referral nurses and support staff.
