About the role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and professional individual to run our dispensary. A professional telephone manner and love of animals is essential. You should be a great problem solver and able to demonstrate excellent client care and communication skills.
You will have a strong track record in the delivery of exceptional client service and will have a good understanding of pharmacy dispensing. Within this role you will help to run the dispensary area including stock management and dispensing of medication.
Day-to-day duties will include:
Stock management to include stock rotation, processing stock wastage, unpacking orders
Management of our automatic ordering system and routine checks of stock levels
Keeping the stock room clean and tidy
Bi-annual stock take
Checking and unloading deliveries and entering the details accurately into the computer system.
Checking invoices.
Labelling products and positioning correctly on shelves or in fridge or other correct storage place.
Assisting in the upkeep of records and checking for and dealing with expired stock, as appropriate.
Preparing and packaging postal prescriptions.
Preparing and dispensing prescription medicines in accordance with instructions from our team of Vets and Nurses.
What we're looking for in our Dispensary Assistant:
Previous dispensary/pharmacy experience would be ideal, either in the Veterinary or Human health care industry
A dispensary or SQP qualification would be ideal, but if not, the willingness to work towards qualification is essential
A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
The ability to remain calm under pressure
Competence with IT and/or practice management systems
An excellent communicator with strong empathy
Excellent customer service skills and experience in dealing with members of the public
A positive attitude and excellent teamwork skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other database management and operating systems
