Join Our Team as a Veterinary Farm Practice Cleaner!

 

Role Details:

Location: To be based at our Barnard Castle site - Montalbo Road, Barnard Castle, Co Durham, DL12 8ED

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 15 hours per week (3 hours per shift, over 5 days)

Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday, working either early shifts (05.30 - 08.30) or late shifts (17.00 - 20.00)

About the Role:

Day-to-day duties of the role will include:

  • Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in our non-clinical areas of the practice, which includes reception, offices, bathrooms and staff rooms
  • Vacuuming and mopping floors
  • Emptying bins
  • Cleaning and disinfecting kitchen surfaces
  • Dusting all surfaces
  • Wiping down mirrors and glass surfaces
  • Restocking supplies such as toilet paper and paper towels
  • Cleaning windows
  • Cleaning and sanitising bathrooms

 

Who We're Looking For:

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in a cleaning or housekeeping role, experience with the veterinary or human health care sector would be ideal!
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, standing, and using cleaning equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
  • Understanding of safe cleaning practices and appropriate use of cleaning materials
  • Good awareness of health and safety, including safe disposal of waste
  • Ability to follow cleaning schedules and tasks consistently

  • Positive and professional attitude
  • Trustworthy and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Takes initiative and identifies areas needing attention
  • Friendly and respectful when working in shared spaces
