We are seeking 2 enthusiastic individuals with a passion for animals to join us as a Veterinary Receptionist at Seadown.

 

 The roles will be mainly based at our Hythe branch but may require shift cover at our other branches in Lymington and Totton.

 

 In our branch surgeries (Lymington and Totton) there is a requirement to support/assist the Vet with animal handling, e.g. for blood samples, vaccines and euthanasia appointments etc. – appropriate training will be provided for this.

 

Hours: 20 hours per week.

 

Shift Pattern: TBCboth vacancies will include a contribution to the Saturday rota.

About the role:

This Receptionist position provides the below opportunities to be more hands on and involved with the patients;

  • Aiding/assisting clients with weighing their animals
  • Answering phones and booking appointments
  • Responding to queries via phone, in person and email
  • Registering new clients
  • Completing insurance forms
  • Dispensing medications
  • Taking payments
  • And most importantly; providing a warm and welcoming experience to our clients arriving at the practice

 

What we're looking for in our Veterinary Receptionist:

  • Previous Receptionist experience is essential, veterinary experience is a plus!
  • Resilient with the ability to cope with potentially distressing and emotional situations
  • An excellent communicator with strong empathy
  • Excellent customer service skills and experience in dealing with members of the public
  • A positive attitude and excellent teamwork skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other database management and operating systems
