Veterinary Surgeon – Stokewood Vets, Bournemouth

Salary: up to £63,500 DOE • Permanent role • Flexible start date (ASAP)
Rota: Every Monday • Flexibility on all other days • School‑hours-friendly
1:4 Saturday consult-only (8:30–12:30)

 

Stokewood Vets in Bournemouth is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly, supportive team. This is a great role for someone who enjoys working in a small, close‑knit practice with excellent clinical standards and a warm, community feel.

The Role

We're looking for a confident and caring GP Vet who enjoys working closely with a small, supportive team. If you love building strong relationships with clients, collaborating with talented RVNs, and delivering high‑quality patient care in a friendly practice, this role could be a great fit for you. You'll have plenty of variety day‑to‑day, the freedom to work in a way that suits your strengths, and the chance to make a real impact within our close‑knit community.

 

Your Day-to-Day at Stokewood

You'll enjoy a lovely mix of consults and routine clinical work in a warm, supportive environment

You'll work hand‑in‑hand with our fantastic RVN team, who are collaborative, caring, and always ready to help

There are opportunities to offer informal support to  our 4th‑year graduate who may need occasional surgical support, if this is something you enjoy, but there's absolutely no expectation

If you'd like to develop your surgical interests, we're very happy to support your growth at your own pace

 

Rota & Flexibility

Your only fixed day is Monday, giving you real freedom in the rest of your week

We pride ourselves on being genuinely flexible — ideal if you're looking for school‑hours‑friendly working or simply better work–life balance

Just 1 in 4 Saturday mornings , consult‑only, with a relaxed and friendly client base

  • Enthusiasm for surgery and confidence with routine procedures, or a desire to further develop these skills.
