Towy Vets, Carmarthen is a small animal specialist practice with a passionate team of vets, nurses, PCAs and receptionists. We are a modern practice with a wide range of facilities giving you the tools you need to deliver outstanding care. We pride ourselves on our friendly and collaborative environment where everyone is supported in providing the best possible care to animals. Alongside our facilities and specialist equipment, our friendly and experienced veterinary team are dedicated to providing the highest quality of veterinary care, surgery and treatment – along with regular check-ups and routine procedures.

Towy Vets is a small animal practice based in Carmarthen with an established team of 3vets, 3 RVNs, a PCA, student nurse and 2 receptionists. We are excited to welcome a new veterinary surgeon to join us!

The practice opening hours are 8:15am-6:15pm Monday to Friday with 1:3 Saturdays 8:15am–12.15pm shared amongst the team.

We pride ourselves on our clean, spacious and friendly practice where we are committed to providing excellent patient and client service. We are well equipped with digital x-ray, ultrasound, in house lab and separate cat and dog wards.

We hold a Practice Standards Outstanding Client Service Award and are accredited as an RCVS General Practice. We also have ambitions to become Cat Friendly and are working towards additional Practice Standards Schemes.

Carmarthen is a great location, nearby are some of the most beautiful beaches, picturesque coastlines and historic landmarks. 

About you: 
 
We're looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our team. Working within a culture where clinicians are empowered to make the best decisions, where improvement is encouraged and where best practice is shared, you will be:

  • As an experienced vet, (2-3 years' experience) you'll bring a strong level of clinical autonomy and be comfortable handling a varied caseload, offering guidance to the wider team and contributing to shaping clinical standards.

This position would suit an experienced small animal vet, preferably with a minimum of 2+ years' experience. The role involves primary care, inpatient care, medical work ups and surgery. A strong medical knowledge is required and experience in routine and emergency surgery. You will possess good communication skills and have a passion to deliver excellent care and client service.
