Life at West Sussex Veterinary Centre

We are a Small Animal practice, most recently known as Pet Doctors, with a passionate team of vets, nurses, PCAs and receptionists.

About you

We're looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our team. Working within a culture where clinicians are empowered to make the best decisions, where improvement is encouraged and where best practice is shared, you will be:

  • As an experienced vet, you'll bring a strong level of clinical autonomy and be comfortable handling a varied caseload, offering guidance to the wider team and contributing to shaping clinical standards.

This role offers 36.5 hours over 3.5 days, with flexibility available, and a salary of up to £55,500 FTE depending on experience. There are no on call or out of hours requirements, and you will be joining a friendly, supportive team of five vets who are sociable, hardworking, and collaborative.

The role includes a 1 in 5 Saturday rota (9am–5pm) and requires flexibility to cover multiple sites, although the majority of time will be spent at the Chichester and Rustington branches. Some sole charge will be required, so prior experience working in a clinic setting is preferred. The team includes certificate holders and is committed to supporting further professional development.

The practices are based in West Sussex, a highly desirable area in the south of England known for its beautiful coastline, as well as its proximity to the South Downs National Park, offering plenty of outdoor activities and a great work/life balance.
