Veterinary Surgeon - Farthings Veterinary Group

Up to £60,000 DOE

Farthings Veterinary Group have a fantastic opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our well‑established, supportive and close‑knit team. With 10 FTE Vets, 18 FTE RVNs, and growing caseloads — including an expanding exotics service — this is a role offering real clinical variety, development and a truly great team culture. 

What We're Looking For

We ideally seek a GP Vet with:

  • 3–5+ years' experience (minimum 3 years)
  • ECC experience and confidence in basic emergency procedures
  • General surgery and consulting experience, including supporting routine ECC
  • Ability to support and mentor more junior team members as they develop their skills

However, we welcome interest from candidates with a range of experience levels.

The Role

As part of the team, you will:

  • Support the Practice Director in driving high clinical standards and exceptional patient care
  • Mentor junior vets, helping them build confidence in surgery and ECC
  • Contribute to optimising client service, business performance, and team culture
  • Participate in clinical meetings and ensure practice compliance with the RCVS Code of Conduct
  • Carry out general GP duties including consults, routine surgeries, ECC cases and emergency procedures such as exploratory laparotomies, pleural effusion drainage and male cat unblocking

Rota: 4‑day week, 37 hours, with flexibility available. 1:6 OOH rota (on-call for own clients only), TOIL during week for this.
