Your journey starts here
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a 3-year-plus qualified Vet to join us at West Mount Vets in West Yorkshire! This role will mainly be based at our Huddersfield surgery.
We are happy to consider full or part-time applications. This role also includes some weekend work, with the option of taking on some OOH work too.
We are offering a competitive salary of up to £60,000 FTE (depending on experience) along with a range of benefits.
At CVS, we put our colleagues first, giving you the support you need to provide the best possible care. From clinical to non-clinical challenges, you'll always have the resources and teams alongside you. We'll be your biggest supporter – it's in our nature.
With market-leading learning, on-the-job training, and collaboration with skilled colleagues, you'll have the tools to grow—whether you're building confidence early in your career or looking to deepen your expertise. From advancing in your current role to exploring new leadership or specialist pathways, we provide the support and opportunities to help you achieve your goals
Life at West Mount
Our light and spacious practice is a lovely place to work, with five consulting rooms (including one dedicated to euthanasia), two operating theatres, a dental suite with dental X‑ray, plus digital X‑ray and ultrasound. Many of our vets and nurses have been with us for years, creating a genuinely friendly, supportive “West Mount Family” that you'll be welcomed into.
We are a progressive, multi‑disciplinary team committed to high clinical standards and continuous improvement. Free CPD is readily available, with several certificate holders and others working towards further qualifications, ensuring plenty of opportunity for case discussion and development.
We enjoy a loyal client base—often keeping us well supplied with cake and chocolate! Our RCVS Tier 3 Hospital in Halifax runs our own bespoke OOH service, offering true 24‑hour care and continuity. We also have two purpose-built branch practices in Mytholmroyd and West Vale, both equipped with digital X‑ray and ultrasound.
We value work‑life balance and offer flexibility with rota planning. Outside work, we're a social bunch—whether it's countryside dog walks, nights out in Leeds or Manchester, or charity events, we love spending time together.
