Veterinary Surgeon, Yew Tree Vets, Withington, South Manchester, Fixed term contract.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Small Animal Vet to join the team at Yew Tree Vets on a 12‑month fixed-term contract. The role will include consultations and routine surgical procedures, though we are also open to considering a consultations only position.

Rota:  31.25 hours a week. Across three days. No Sundays, no OOH, no bank holidays. If you are seeking a different pattern, please get in touch.

Life at Yew Tree

You will be supported by a dedicated and experienced veterinary and nursing team who are passionate about delivering exceptional patient care. The team provides a strong and supportive blend of RVNs, PCAs and reception staff, fostering a collaborative and caring working environment.

Yew Tree Vets is a well-established practice, founded in 1956 and located in Withington, a suburb of Manchester with excellent transport links to the city centre, Manchester Airport and other major northern cities. Our newly refurbished practice is fully equipped with modern facilities and offers a varied caseload, ensuring an engaging and rewarding role.

You will be joining a friendly and experienced team of 14, including 3 vets and a new graduate veterinary surgeon, alongside 3 nurses, 2 student nurses and a dedicated support team. We are proud to have certificate holders in Surgery and Imaging within the practice.

The role involves delivering a high standard of veterinary care, including surgery, treatment, routine procedures and regular check-ups. A generous rota and protected administration time are in place to support a healthy work-life balance and ensure you are able to finish on time. There are no out-of-hours requirements, as this is covered by the nearby PetMedics Veterinary Hospital.

 

About you

We are seeking a GP Veterinary Surgeon to join our fun, friendly and supportive teams. We would also consider a consultations only role if this is what you would prefer. You will be:
